Susan E. Lyons (“Suzy”) worked the first 17 years of her professional career as a computer systems trainer and database administrator in the Washington, DC metro area. In 2001, she moved to Durango Colorado and continued her database work as a consultant for her former employer the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
In 2002, Suzy passed the H&R Block Income Tax Professionals course and promptly went to work for H&R Block as a tax preparer. In 2004, she joined Bonura, Savage & Associates, LLC as a tax associate, where she prepares an average of 300 tax returns each year. When she’s not preparing taxes or managing databases, Suzy volunteers her time with the La Plata County Humane Society as well as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Most of Suzy’s remaining time is spent outdoors in the beautiful mountains of southwest Colorado with her husband Scott Kadera. During any given week you may find them on skis or snowshoes, hiking with friends, backpacking with llamas, or rafting the abundant rivers in the region.
